The Vote Note
THE VOTE NOTE:
Considerations on Voting for Republicans
By Michael T. Gregory
I wish the election were tomorrow. That way, at least we’d have our televisions back, the economy would settle down and some semblance of a ‘normal’ America could re-emerge.
I’ve seen enough, heard enough and pondered the election enough to know what I’m going to do. Now wouldn’t it be wonderful if the country would get a clue. Let me throw you a clue.
The ads are flying and the media blitz (at least 99% of it) is in full swing and the more they push Hillary Clinton down my throat, the less I find likable about the Democratic candidate. Exactly how is bitching about Donald Trump going to help the nation kill ISIS? This push to paint Trump as the villain and not our economic struggles is a mere distraction. Meanwhile, our country is being drawn into another conflict not of the people’s choosing, but the government’s decision. I wonder if this is discussed at the 19th hole at the Vineyard.
The push to anoint Hillary Clinton the continuation of President Obama’s ‘legacy’ is something the country literally cannot afford. A legacy that has nearly 100 million Americans out of work, nearly 50 million on government subsistence and a diplomatic nightmare awaiting the next president.
So what was that “change” he wanted? Did he not want America to be the envy of the planet or was his aim to paint America as the problem? I think the latter. We now have black American’s openly claiming ‘reparations’. Isn’t generations of inner city youth on welfare, SNAP cards, and the democratic teat reparations enough? The slave master of the 19th century has been traded for a 21st century political party that has provided no hope, no change and no chance.
Obama supported a bill ($845 BILLION) that supported a global UN anti-poverty program. Are you kidding me?!?! If our debt was so outrageous and the Bush Admin was responsible for squandering our (paper) ‘surplus’, how could the nation afford these type programs? The change he and his constituents wanted was America’s slide from that beacon of freedom to the role as global team player. This is not the legacy of America. We cannot afford another legacy such as this. Yet, this is the promise of another Clinton presidency.
In 1990 America defeated both Soviet “Socialism” and Saddam Hussein at the same time. Today we can’t get congress to support one victory. Now apparently, the USA is “headed in the wrong direction”, yet people still want to vote for the same leadership that has us headed down the wrong path.
Let me shed some light on this. Because of Democratic ‘leadership’ that wants a US version of the failed ideology of socialism and a psychotic obsession with the anti-Trump media, our country is doomed for the same path as we are on with Clinton direction. Obamacare is a travesty escaping the womb. The insurance companies are opting out, the people are going to get hammered with fees and the democrat desire for a ‘single payer’ system is the vision planned for American taxpayers.
It has less to do with Trump and more to do with the Democratic obsession with power over Americans lives. They do not know what’s best for me, much less my country. I know we need a third party and a third choice, but any pull from Trump is a vote for Clinton. I’m going to vote for Trump and every other Republican on my ballot. I will toast a beer on November 9th if my effort gets anyone but Clinton (or Obama) in the White House. Sending her anywhere but DC is a fitting end for her political career, and it can’t happen soon enough. Perhaps President Obama could actually do something to fix education or the Department of Veterans Affairs. Doubt it. Think he’ll have to tell some seven year-old why America isn’t a great country without him in the White House and do another book tour.
I highly encourage my fellow Americans, especially in Virginia, New York, Ohio and Florida to vote republican across the board. They are swing states and every vote there is going to count. There will be massive cheating in any toss-up state. The votes in the swing states will be fought for hard and will not be red without lawyers.
My vote in November will be for Donald Trump because I think he has the best ability to bring jobs back to America. He will get no help from congress, on either side of the isle. Hell, I give Trump 60 days and the damn Republicans will try to impeach him! But he is asking for the job. Would you want it?
I hope he can provide a direction that brings America together rather than push us apart. Away from the collective of minority coalitions or tribes of the Democrats that push for change, even if it’s wrong. A positive direction that takes us up the hill where we belong, leading the free world instead force feeding socialism. To get there, we need Republican leadership, not Democratic hope. I will give Trump my trust and my vote. It is a vote for the Republic and what it stands for.
