Not just in Finland
So, the experiment in Scandinavia was brief, but a tell for what the EU leadership/rulers actually want. This, if anything, will split Europe apart. Clearly Greece was not a lesson learned how bureaucrats supposedly imbued with all the smarts of the world will cave their Union into just another failed experiment of Socialism. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-01-24/now-entire-eu-urged-adopt-basic-income
Money equates to dignity, though, and the value of human rights. Money; not the stance on personal liberties or property rights. The moral values encouraged by the EU economic system explains that a primary difference between capitalism and socialism is the difference between free choice and compulsory force. http://www.LibertyPen.com As Thomas Sowell stated, conservative principles stand up against more opposition because they don't pretend to have the perfect solutions to every problem. The conservative ideology is that man (even the gov't man) is flawed from day one and that society should find the best possible trade offs, which in many cases may be choosing a horrible option over an even worse option. A liberal's ideology is more concerned with trying to create their version of a perfect world despite failing repeatedly throughout history; they keep believing that those failures occurred because systems like socialism were not implemented correctly and not because man is flawed.
Blaming others or the system for your own lack of success and happiness, is the most socialist thing you can do. The system denies accountability, too. Denying accountability is in itself granting that mankind is flawed. It would drive Descartes into suicide. (oops, not allowed to cite Descartes because he is representative of imperialism, so say the snowflakes)
Then there's the use of force to do "good", or exercise benevolence. This contradiction is often hidden or unconnected from their minds, and leads to the seemingly unlimited ability of modern liberals to be bribed or coerced into endorsing theft, murder, or genocide for an alleged 'good' end.
