ISIS paying smugglers’ fees to recruit child refugees

Goes along with what Trump was stating about the press not reporting terrorism let alone facts concerning the threat. Christian Science Monitor has reported, buried deep though.

Islamic State is paying the smugglers’ fees of child refugees in a desperate attempt to attract new recruits, according to a report examining the vulnerability of unaccompanied minors to radicalization. The report, from counter-extremism think tank Quilliam, says that the European Union’s police agency Europol identified an estimated 88,300 unaccompanied children as having gone missing, and these children were at a higher risk of being radicalized. The report warns that jihadi groups, including ISIS and Boko Haram, attempted to recruit within refugee camps using financial incentives, as well as working with the people smugglers. The report says that ISIS had offered up to $2,000 to recruit within camps in Lebanon and Jordan.

AC - the money aspect has been reported a number of times coming from various sources both on the higher sides and on the unclass. However, the numbers (88K+) is a number that is in dispute. This is one of the higher estimates that I have seen. There are a number of reasons why kids are split up from their families and thus go unaccounted for. Just look at the uptick of illegal immigration coming into the US and sheer amounts that are increasing with minors traveling alone. Where are the parents? Various reasons as to why this COA was chosen and thus these tactics at getting from Point A to Point B. Of course, the "risk" for these kids coming into the US is minimal and very manageable from a smugglers standpoint. Different breed of cat in the ME though.

Kid smuggling is lucrative, whether as baby warriors or organ stealing.
