Hungary refugee problem

Interesting... a sovereign nation takes steps, as unorthodox as they first appear, to secure their borders, insuring folks are screened or vetted by coming in through the FRONT door vice sneaking in the back... Note the strategic messaging campaign where they identify the illegal immigration as "asylum seekers". Doesn't quite have the hard edge something identified as 'illegal' plays in manipulation of this event. They portray/imply the shipping container living as some horrible type of deal, but if they are set up like anything seen on work sites from all over the world, they are functional and effective in keeping the folks out of the elements. They are very efficient space wise as they can be stacked and so for security, this is a plus. Google "shipping container homes" and see how they can be set up, you might be surprised. No doubt there is no wall to wall carpeting and other amenities like you will see on Google, but they are better than giving refugees pieces of plastic, tarpaulin, cardboard boxes or like what you see in most U.N. compounds--a drafty tent with a mud floor.

Hungary is not financially well off, so they are doing the best that they can with the resources available. Of course what is lost on many is that only select nations in the EU are being hit with refugees so it is easy for those nations unaffected by unchecked immigration to sit back and throw darts. Note the uptick of assistance from other nations (especially the other EU nations except Greece) to take these refugees off Hungary's hands and/or provide material and financial assistance...didn't see that? Now that I look at this again, I don't see it either. Imagine that. You may see the US press pick up on all this in short order. Of course, if these "asylum seekers" were trying to get into Russia or China or a number of other wonderful like countries, they would have been shot...dead. Period. One has to wonder what Amnesty International would say about that? Too bad Amnesty International and other do-gooder like organizations can't direct their energies in trying to assist these countries where the immigration comes from. Rot normally starts from the center. As conditions continue to deteriorate in Africa and the ME, more folks will be trying to save themselves and their families which will increase demands on the limited resources in countries like Hungary.

Hungary has been accused of "stooping to a new low" after it announced plans to detain all asylum seekers in shipping containers near the border with Serbia. The populist government of prime minister Viktor Orbán says the measure is necessary to secure the EU's borders and deter Middle Eastern migrants coming into the country via Serbia. Hungary has already set up two razor fences on the border with Serbia, and is deploying more than 600 soldiers to guard the fence. Amnesty International said the new measure was in clear contravention of EU law and the Refugee Convention. Hungary plans to hold asylum seekers at four military bases along the fence, where they will be housed in barracks built from shipping containers. Each camp will have room for 150 people. The government is due to submit its proposal to parliament, which will then debate and vote on the measures within weeks. It will involve transferring hundreds of existing asylum seekers to the container camps. The new regulations will be implemented only as long as the government-declared state of emergency over mass migration is in effect, as is the situation now.
