Border wall

Interesting tidbit that many didn't realize was going on. This is actually pretty impressive but one has to wonder what they have done to thwart tunneling. This effort has been going on now for several years and is reportedly either complete or just about complete. Now there is talk of yet another wall being contemplated for the Armenian border. The outcry from the civil libertarians has been deafening (well, perhaps not).
When I was there some time ago, the Turk border was wide open all the way across Syria. We would receive spotty rifle fire from Syrian side when servicing equipment along the border. Turks would respond with Artillery to stop it: which it would. When the Syrian War kicked off, it was strange to watch people cue up to the Turkish border station when all they had to do was step off the sidewalk and come across. Fast forward a year's time, the Turks threw up triple strand concertina wire as people were just doing that, showing up in Adana en masse. I think Turkey had the UN build those IDP shelters on the Syrian side rather than on the Turk side, but I'm not sure.
